Vidaamuyarchi Director Magizh Thirumeni Says Ajith Kumar Is Very Happy With The Film's Performance

Director Magizh Thirumeni's Vidaamuyarchi starring Ajith Kumar in the lead released in theatres on February 6.

Produced by Lyca Productions, reviews of the film has been positive, with several praising the off-beat treatment of the action-drama.

Speaking to a YouTube channel, Magizh Thirumeni said "Ajith sir is very happy, the producer is very happy, I am so happy, fans are happy, neutral audience are happy... what more could one ask for ".

Vidaamuyarchi is said to be an inspired from the Hollywood film Breakdown', and director Magizh Thirumeni has spoken about the film's story in his recent interview with Hindu Tamil. “This story is not mine. I initially wanted to create an action thriller with Ajith sir in the lead. However, the script was one that Ajith sir himself suggested. The image he carries and the character he portrays in this film have no relation. This is not a mass entertainer, so fans shouldn't expect that. Ajith sir had a vision for this kind of film, and he wanted to make it a reality", said Magizh Thirumeni.

He further said ''Vidaamuyarchi' perfectly complements Ajith sir’s current image. However, if you're expecting a typical superhero, this isn't the film for you. It’s a story about an ordinary person who transforms into a hero, which is what sets it apart. As an action director, I've been fortunate to work on such impactful narratives. I was about to ask why he chose me for this project, but before I could, Ajith sir said, ‘Let’s step out of our comfort zones and create something different".

Vidaamuyarchi also starred Trisha Krishan, Arjun Sarja and Regina Cassandra in key roles.
