So Who Lost Or Won From Last-Minute Bargain
Kailash Gehlot, who dumped AAP and joined the BJP, won from Bijwasan; AAP’s Surender Bharadwaj lost by margin of more than 11000 votes.
Raaj Kumar Anand, who switched to the BJP before the assembly elections, lost to AAP’s Pravesh Ratn from Patel Nagar by a margin of over 4000 votes.
Kartar Singh Tanwar, who quit and joined the BJP before elections, won from Chhatarpur seat, defeateding AAP’s Bhram SIngh Tanwar by margin of more than 6000 votes.
Jitender Singh Shunty, who switched to AAP from the BJP, lost to BJP’s Sanjay Goyal by a margin of more than 5000 votes from Shahdara.
Surinder Pal Bittu, who fought on the AAP ticket after quitting the BJP, lost to the BJP’s Surya Prakash Khatri by nearly 1200 votes from Timarpur seat.
BB Tyagi, who dumped BJP for AAP ticket, lost to BJP’s Abhay Verma from Laxmi Nagar by a margin of more than 11000 votes.
Anil Jha, who quit BJP and joined the Aam Aadmi Party, defeated BJP’s Bajrang Shukla from Kirari by margin of more than 20000 votes.
Veer Singh Dhingan, who switched from the Congress to AAP, won from Seemapuri by margin of more than 10000 vote.
Sumesh Shokin, who switched to AAP from the Congress and contested from Matiala seat, lost to BJP’s Sandeep Sehrawat by margin of more than 28000 votes
Chaudhhary Zubair Ahmad, who switched to AAP from Congress, won from Seelampur by margin of more than 42000 votes. BJP’s Anil Kumar Sharma stood in the second position.
Former Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely, who switched to the BJP, won on Gandhi Nagar seat by a margin of more than 12000 votes. Aam Aadmi Party’s Naveen Chaudhary stood at second spot.
Rajkumar Chauhan, who switched to the BJP from the Congress, won Mangol Puri seat by a margin of over 6000 votes, and defeated Rakesh Jatav of Aam Aadmi Party.
Both outgoing AAP MLAs Dharam Pal Lakra and Haji Ishraq, who switched to the Congress after being denied a ticket from AAP lost Mundka and Babarpur respectively. AAP minister Gopal Rai won Babarpur by margin of more than 18,000 votes. In Mundka, BJP’s Gajender Drall won by margin of more than 10000 votes.
In Matia Mahal, ex-AAP MLA Asim Ahmed Khan, who joined Congress, lost to AAP’s incumbent MLA Aaley Mohammed Iqbal by more than 42,000 votes.
Delhi voted on February 5 and witnessed a voter turnout of 60.54%. Over 94.5 lakh citizens cast their votes in the high-stakes AAP Vs BJP fight.
