Apoorva Mukhija aka Rebel Kid Disables Comments, Refuses To Take Down India's Got Latent Video Amid Controversy
Instagram influencer Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as Rebel Kid, has landed in trouble for using abusive language on Samay Raina's controversial show India's Got Latent. The 23-year-old content creator has sparked public outrage with her crude comments, with videos of the incident going viral on social media. In response to the severe backlash, Apoorva has restricted the comments section on her Instagram handle.
Rebel Kid Disables Comments But...
After snippets from the dark comedy show went viral on social media, Apoorva was heavily criticised by netizens. While some questioned her "upbringing," others resorted to slut-shaming her for the sexual comments made during the appearance. Many even hurled abusive language at her in the comments section.
In the midst of this backlash, the young influencer has remained silent about the incident. However, she has subtly responded to the criticism by muting the comments section on her Instagram handle.
Notably, a video from India's Got Latent is still available on her profile, although it doesn't include any of her controversial remarks. In the clip, Apoorva is seen roasting fellow panellist Ashish Chanchlani.
Apoorva, along with the other accused persons mentioned in the complaint, have been summoned in the case. She will also appear in front of the National Commission for Women (NCW) on February 17.
Ranveer Allahbadia Issues Apology
After the episode went viral and drew severe flak online, the famous podcaster issued an apology. He said, "My comment wasn't just inappropriate, it wasn't even funny. Comedy is not my forte, I am just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use the platform and obviously this is not how I am going to use it. I am not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. Just an apology. I personally had a lapse in judgement. It wasn't cool on my part.."
Allahbadia added, "The podcast is watched by people of all ages. I don't want to be the person that takes that responsibility lightly. And, family is the last thing that I would disrespect. Need to use this platform better, that's been my learning from this experience. I promise to just get better. I've asked the makers of the video to just remove the insensitive sections from the video. And, all I can say in the end is I am sorry. I hope you forgive me as a human being."
Meanwhile, Samay has also remained tight-lipped on the controversy.
