A Bengaluru man’s risky wheelie on a scooter with a passenger on the back sure looked cool, as a video of the same was shared on social media, but he still seemingly failed to impress the authorities, as what happened next was something that everyone saw coming; an arrest. The video was shared online, while the said man was seen pulling dangerous stunts on a street that was partially empty. As soon as the clip of the same began to go viral, it went to the notice of the Madiwala Traffic Police, leading to the man’s immediate arrest.
Cautioning other such ‘stunt lovers’ against doing something similar, the Bengaluru Traffic Police shared the same video on their official social media handle, along with the consequences that followed after the stunt. It’s also safe to say that the Bengaluru Traffic Police also grabbed the chance to get creative and share a rather ‘savage’ warning that read, “Bengaluru roads are for safe rides, not stunt shows! Try wheeling, and you’ll be starring in a cautionary tale.”
For those not aware, such stunts might be common all across the country, but they are not legal in India. Performance of such life-threatening stunts on the road is illegal under Section 279 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘BengaluruTrafficPolice’. The post was shared yesterday and pulled more than 107K views from people.

The video went viral and mostly gained praise for the Bengaluru Police’s quick actions. Many also recalled the horrors of such stunts that took place in the past, and suggested better and stricter traffic rules for the country.
“These stunts are dangerous. Why do they risk their lives doing them?” a user said.
“During my adrenaline-filled youth, I used to do the same 25 years ago with RX100 on the streets of Chennai, Hyd and Bang. Never got caught as no CCTV or phones. Had a few minor accidents and close death calls. Now a family man, I don't have the guts to do,” added another.
“I love how quick the Bangalore traffic police are. And cheeky on social media,” added a third person.
This is not the first time that such stunts led to the driver’s arrest, as social media is full of videos which went viral, only for the careless drivers to go behind bars once the police of their respective cities got involved. From Delhi, Noida to Mumbai and more, such incidents have unfolded in quite a few cities, repeatedly.
