An old video of the two is going viral on the internet highlighting how it was love at first sight for them. The clip dates back to 20 years when they appeared on Taiwanese variety show 100Entertainment. It marked their first meeting and sparks were evident right there.
The video shows Barbie greeting Koo in Korean. She says, "Hello. Oh, you’re so cool," to which Koo replies "Xièxiè (thank you)." It shows an evident spark as they both lovingly gaze at each other, igniting a romance.
In the episode, Barbie's younger sister Dee Hsu asks Koo his ideal type. Koo replies, "I want someone I have a connection with, someone sophisticated."

Barbie contracted influenza-associated pneumonia while on a family trip to Japan during the Chinese New Year. Her sister Dee Hsu confirmed the news about her death through a statement.
On February 6, her husband Koo expressed grief on social media. In a post, he wrote, "I am going through indescribable sorrow and pain, a time of unbearable agony."
February 8 marked their third wedding anniversary. Remembering Barbie, he left a final message that read, "I will love you forever."
