Bitcoin Surges To Record High Of Over 105,000 For First Time
Bitcoin soared to an all-time high of over $105,000 during early Asian trading on Monday, continuing its upward trajectory since Republican Donald Trump, a vocal advocate for cryptocurrencies, was elected as US President in November.
The cryptocurrency reached a peak of $105,142 before settling at $104,666.
The surge followed weekend reports suggesting Trump’s administration plans to establish a Bitcoin strategic reserve fund, noted Tony Sycamore, an analyst at IG.
"We're in blue sky territory here," Sycamore said. "The next figure the market will be looking for is $110,000."
