CoD player banned for 67 years
A Call of Duty player was banned from the game for 24,488 days or more than 67 years for violating the "chat activity" of the game's policy. Many highly popular IPs like Call of Duty, Fortnite, Destiny 2, and, more have implemented strict policies to moderate in-game chats and combat any toxicity that might breed in chat boxes.
The banned Call of Duty player took to Reddit to express his shock over the lengthy prohibition in a post titled, “Excuse me wtf.” The user, Jefedadon762 on Reddit, posted a picture of the message he received from Call of Duty on the Black Ops 6 subreddit. The in-game messaged stated that the penalty was a resulted from the player's chats breaking the game's Code of Conduct and showed that the extensive ban was "temporary."
“Your chat activity violates our Code of Conduct which has resulted in the temporary removal of public communication. You will not be able to communicate in public matches,” the penalty notice read.
Bans like these are common in online gaming world. Last year, a Fortniteplayer was given a social ban by Epic Games for almost three million days. The 7980 year social ban meant that the player in question lost access to voice and text chat features and the ability to add friends in-game while still being allowed gameplay. Bans of such lengths are usually warranted for players who repeatedly violate the rules or commit a major transgression.
