Chhaava Day 1 Box Office Prediction: Will Vicky Kaushal's Historical Epic Beat Akshay Kumar's Sky Force As Biggest Opener Of 2025?

Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna's Chhaava piqued the interest of audiences with its first teaser itself, which was released with Stree 2 last year. The historical epic, which was earlier slated to release in December, is now set to hit theatres on February 14. The advance booking trends indicate a string opening for this Laxman Utekar directorial. But will it beat Akshay Kumar's Sky Force to emerge the highest opener of 2025 thus far?

As per the latest update, Chhaava has already sold over 3 lakh tickets across the country for day 1, grossing around Rs 5 crore. With 2 more days to go, this Vicky and Rashmika has already registered Bollywood’s highest day 1 pre-sales in 2025. If the current trending is anything to go by, Chhaava should easily go past the day 1 numbers of Sky Force, which was Rs 15.30 crore to emerge the biggest Hindi opener of the year so far.

The advance sales of Chhaava is heavily driven by Maharashtra and if other regions also come in the picture in the remaining 2 days, then a bumper opening is definitely on cards. There will be a clear idea of the same by tomorrow.

The team of Chhaava have been doing multiple city tours to enhance the on-ground buzz and that is expected to work in the film's favour, particularly day 1. Nonetheless, a major chunk of Chhaava day 1 earnings will undoubtedly be from Maharashtra.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, Chhaava is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who fought with Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. It features Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji, Rashmika as Yesubai, and Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb.
