Two girls were allegedly molested on a moving bus in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh when they were going to their school. The girls, due to fear, jumped off the moving bus. The police have arrested three accused while a search is underway for the remaining accused.

Damoh: Two girl students jumped off a moving bus after they were allegedly molested in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. Both the girls suffered injuries on their heads and were rushed to hospital. The incident occurred in Adhrota Tori Marg under the Tejgarh police station area of Damoh district. The police have arrested three accused and a case has been registered.
After jumping off the moving vehicle, the injured girls reached out to their families, who then rushed them to a district hospital in an injured state. Currently, they are admitted to the surgical ward and are undergoing treatment
According to the police the students first tried to stop the bus, but when it didn't, both of them jumped from the moving vehicle. The accused fled from there with the bus. The police managed to arrest three of the accused, and a search is underway to apprehend the remaining accused. The bus has also been taken into custody, Tejgarh police officials said.
In a statement to the police, one of the girls stated that she was on her way to take her Maths exam from her village to her school. The bus she usually takes was not available, so they took another bus. She stated that the vehicle was empty, and only four people including the driver were present.
She further stated that after some distance, both of them tried to pay the fare to the bus conductor but he allegedly refused to take the money and closed the door. "One of the accused was staring at us and started making dirty comments...," the girl alleged.
"When we tried to stop the bus, the accused did not stop the bus. Due to fear, both of us jumped from the moving bus one after the other," the survivor stated. Tejgarh police station in-charge Abhishek Patel stated: "Upon receiving information on the alleged incident, a police team immediately rushed to the scene and arrested three accused."
Additional SP Sandeep Mishra said that the students had complained that they were molested in the bus and they jumped from the moving bus due to fear.
Mishra stated, "The students said they sat in a new bus to go to school. There were already four people on the bus, out of which an elderly person started staring at them and making dirty comments. Then, the bus conductor closed the back door of the bus. When the students feared an untoward incident, both of them jumped from the moving bus through the front gate."
The police have registered a case of molestation and relevant sections under the POCSO Act against the bus driver Mohammad Asik Shah (28), son of Akbar Shah, a resident of Hindoria; conductor Bansi Lal (63), son of Ram Charan Sen, a resident of Kundalpur; Hukum Singh (71), son of Jagat Singh, a resident of Niwari Sadguwan; and Madhav (53), son of Sudama Asati, a resident of Raja Patna, Mishra said.
A case has been registered against the conductor and two other individuals.
