Microsoft has expanded its Copilot Bug Bounty Program, now offering $5,000 (approximately Rs 4,36,000) for finding bugs in its Copilot services. The program has been extended to include more products, such as Copilot for Telegram, Copilot for WhatsApp, and other Copilot platforms like copilot.microsoft.com and copilot.ai. By expanding the program, the US-based tech giant is giving AI researchers more chances to help improve security by reporting vulnerabilities.
This gives everyone a chance to earn rewards by finding and reporting issues with Copilot products.
"We are introducing new incentives for moderate severity Copilot cases. Researchers who identify and report moderate severity vulnerabilities will now be eligible for bounty rewards up to $5,000. This expansion provides researchers with more opportunities to contribute to the security of our Copilot ecosystem and helps us identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities across a wider array of platforms," Microsoft said in a blog post.
The company's Microsoft Copilot bounty program also rewards qualified submissions for vulnerabilities found in Copilot (Pro) AI experiences in Microsoft Edge (Windows), Microsoft Copilot Application (iOS and Android), Windows OS and Bing generative search hosted on bing.com in Browser.
Bounty rewards range from $250 for low-severity issues like Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF), Web Security Misconfiguration, Cross-Origin Access, and Improper Input Validation, up to $30,000 for high-severity vulnerabilities that allow manipulation of inference.
"We invite all security researchers, developers, and enthusiasts to join us in this mission. By participating in the Copilot (AI) Bounty Program, you can help us identify and address vulnerabilities, contribute to the security of our Copilot consumer products, and earn awards for your valuable contributions," Microsoft said.
