IIM Bodh Gaya’s Leadership Summit Netritva 2025 Concludes Successfully

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya successfully concluded its annual leadership summit, Netritva, on February 9, 2025. As one of Bihar’s premier leadership events, the summit brought together bureaucrats, thought leaders, industry experts, and content creators to discuss the evolving nature of leadership. The platform aimed to inspire and guide the next generation through insightful discussions on contemporary leadership challenges and opportunities.
The event comprised two keynote addresses and two panel discussions focused on leadership, innovation, and the digital creators’ economy.
Inaugural Address and Keynote Speakers
The summit began with an inaugural address by Dr. Vinita Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, who underscored the importance of vision in leadership. She highlighted that while managers focus on execution, leaders stand out by envisioning the future. Encouraging students to reflect on their purpose, she posed thought-provoking questions on personal values, legacy, and leadership impact. Following this, Dr. Sanjay Kaushal, Chairperson of the Media and PR Committee, delivered the welcome speech.
The keynote addresses were delivered by Shri Bharat Lal, Secretary General of the National Human Rights Commission, and Sh. Amit Lodha, Inspector General of Police, Bihar. Shri Bharat Lal spoke about leadership in public service, urging young leaders to define their purpose early. He emphasized that leadership is not just about rights and responsibilities but also about dharma—a commitment to societal welfare. Drawing parallels with global leaders like Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi, he encouraged students to approach leadership with integrity.
Sh. Amit Lodha, whose life story inspired the Netflix series Khakee - The Bihar Chapter, highlighted that power must be exercised responsibly and used to serve society. He stressed that responsible citizenship is one of the most effective ways to contribute to the nation, emphasizing the importance of pursuing personally fulfilling goals to maintain motivation and drive.
The first panel discussion, "Evolution of Leadership," explored how leadership models have transformed over time. The panel featured Dr. Radhakrishnan Pillai, a bestselling author and expert on Chanakya’s principles; Chhavi Rajawat, India’s first female MBA Sarpanch; Swapnil Gawande, Managing Director of DEESHA Group; and Vipin Yadav, an educator and content creator. Pratyush Singh, a first-year MBA student, moderated the session.
Dr. Pillai initiated the discussion by stating that leadership is a natural science that exists across all spheres of life and must adapt to societal shifts. Ms. Rajawat elaborated on this idea, comparing a leader to water—constantly evolving, learning, and growing. Mr. Swapnil emphasized the role of strong values and encouraged students to contribute to society from a young age. Mr. Vipin discussed the ethical dilemmas leaders often face, stressing the importance of self-reflection and collaborative leadership in today’s dynamic environment.
The second panel, "Ethos of the Creators’ Economy," focused on content creation, personal branding, and resilience in the digital world. Panelists included Aaditya Iyengar, a finance content creator and CFA charter holder; Devan Bhalla, a marketing expert and LinkedIn Top Voice; Bibhuti Bhushan, an entrepreneur and content creator; and Manjyoti Parasar, an AI educator and content creator. Saangwi Patel, a second-year MBA student, moderated the discussion.
Aaditya Iyengar emphasized the importance of contextualizing digital reach, urging creators to see their audience as individuals rather than statistics. Bibhuti Bhusan and Devan Bhalla shared insights on content performance, with Bibhuti advocating for impact over numbers and Devan highlighting the role of data-driven optimization and visual storytelling. The panelists dispelled myths around personal branding, asserting that content should drive action rather than mere visibility. Aspiring creators were advised to identify their niche, leverage insights, and maintain consistency, with the session concluding that success in digital content creation stems from adaptability, authenticity, and audience engagement.
The summit concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Vishal Ashok Wankhede, Co-chairperson of the Media and PR Committee. Netritva continues to serve as a bridge between academic learning and real-world leadership, fostering discussions that equip students with practical insights and inspiration. By bringing together leaders from various fields, IIM Bodh Gaya reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing future changemakers and thought leaders.
