On February 6, South Korean musician Koo Jun-Yup, also known as DJ Koo, arrived in Taiwan, carrying the cremation urn of his late wife, renowned Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu. The singer, who had travelled from Japan’s Haneda Airport on a private flight, landed at Songshan Airport in Taipei at approximately 3 PM local time.

Koo Jun-Yup, who kept his face partially hidden under a hat and mask, could not conceal his grief as he stepped off the aircraft. According to a report by Allkpop, the moment became more poignant when he made a heartfelt request to the gathered media: “Please cover it with an umbrella so my wife won’t be startled.” In response, his team quickly used umbrellas to shield the urn from the press.

Barbie Hsu to not have a funeral
Barbie Hsu tragically passed away on February 2 at the age of 48 due to complications from pneumonia. In accordance with her final wishes, Barbie Hsu’s family has decided not to hold a public funeral. Her younger sister, Dee Hsu, shared a heartfelt statement expressing gratitude for the love and support received:
“She has safely returned home. We believe she is happy in heaven and at peace. There will be no farewell ceremony. Barbie was always a humble person. Please remember her in your hearts.”
Barbie's death is being linked to Christine Fan. According to reports, Barbie Hsu fell ill shortly after attending the wedding of Wang Wei-Jung’s daughter, Gui Ning, on January 26. Just days before the event, Christine had revealed on social media that her entire family was battling the flu. Despite their illness, they attended the wedding, where Christine Fan took photos with Barbie Hsu and her husband.
