Mrunal Thakur Reviews 'Masterpiece' Emergency: Kangana Ranaut Consistently Pushed Boundaries, Inspired Me

Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency underperformed at the box office but the response was nothing but phenomenal. The political drama was directed by Kangana, who also played the central role. Mrunal Thakur took time to watch the film in a theatre with her father. Reviewing Emergency, the Dacoit actress lavished praise on Kangana for creating a ‘masterpiece’.

Mrunal shared an Instagram post and wrote, “I just watched #Emergency in theaters with my father, and I’m still reeling from the experience! As a huge fan of Kangana Ranaut, I’ve been eagerly awaiting to witness this film on big screens and IT WAS A MASTERPIECE.”

Praising Kangana for her evolution as an actor, Mrunal penned, “From Gangster to Queen to Tanu weds Manu to Manikarnika, Thalaivi and now Emergency, Kangana has consistently pushed boundaries and inspired me with her incredible talent. This film is no exception - the attention to detail, the camera work, costumes, and performances are all top-notch!”

Mrunal added, “Kangana, you’ve outdone yourself as a Director! My favorite scene…The army officer’s poignant moment with the binoculars, transitioning to the other side of the river bank and capturing the emotion perfectly. The screenplay, dialogues, music, and editing are all seamless and engaging. I loved seeing Shreyas ji , Mahima ji, Anupam Sir, and Satish Ji, Milind Sir shine in their roles - every actor brought their A-game! Kangana, you’re not just an actor; you’re a true artist and inspiration. Your courage in taking on challenging roles is admirable, and your dedication to your craft is evident in every frame.”

According to trade reports, Emergency’s lifetime collection is Rs 16.52 crore. Kangana played the role of PM Indira Gandhi whereas Anupam Kher portrayed Jayaprakash Narayan and Shreyas Talpade played the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. the cast also included Mahima Chaudhry as Pupul Jayakar, Ashok Chhabra as Morarji Desai, Vishak Nair as Sanjay Gandhi, and the late Satish Kaushik as Jagjivan Ram. The film released on January 17.
