Nashik: The death of a four-year-old boy after being run over by a car in the parking area of a hotel near Pathardi Phata along the Mumbai-Agra National Highway on Wednesday afternoon has raised some important concerns over safety and negligence. Users on X are debating if it really was driver’s fault or not.
The child had accompanied his father, a driver by profession, to the hotel to drop off some passengers. After arriving at the premises, the boy got out of the vehicle and began playing in the parking lot while his father was busy parking the car.
Then, another vehicle entered the hotel premises, and as the child ran across the parking area, he slipped and fell under the car’s wheels. Despite the efforts of locals and hotel staff who rushed him to a nearby hospital, doctors declared the boy dead on arrival due to severe injuries.

But Why X Users Are Defending The Driver?

When seen the video carefully, one can see that the driver was driving slowly given he was in a parking lot and the kid, in matter of seconds, ran out of the blue and slipped right before the car, making it nearly impossible for the car to stop on time. Many users are saying that it was not really the driver’s fault but the parent’s.
Video (discretion advised):
“Poor car driver is held responsible although he could not do much to prevent this. He has to now go through all the legal hurdles which will be mentally stressful. Unfortunately, the kid did not survive” said one user.
Another added, “The driver was driving slow only, it's the guardian's mistake who was busy on his phone instead of keeping an eye on his child.”
X Users Take:
“It’s a freak accident. It’s not the car drivers fault. He has to face the mental trauma of facing legal hurdles and the guilty conscience of running over a child because of the idiot guardians who left the child in a car park without proper supervision. For this and all US law is perfect. They won’t take bullshit. Each person should know their responsibility.” said another.
In any case, the police have registered a case of negligent driving and are investigating the incident.
