A Pakistani currency note of Rs 20 denomination has been found in a housing society in Pimpri Chichwad area of Maharashtra's Pune district.

Pune: A Pakistani currency note of Rs 20 denomination was discovered in a housing society in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area of Maharashtra’s Pune district, prompting police to initiate an investigation, an official said, as per a PTI report.
The society is located in Bhukum, approximately 18 km from the National Defence Academy (NDA). According to police, the note was found outside a service lift in the society on Saturday.
"The office-bearers of the society later approached police. A probe has been initiated and CCTV footage of the area is being checked," Pimpri Chinchwad police's Assistant Commissioner Vishal Hire said.

In another news, a Delhi court has convicted two men for the possession and use of Rs 2,000-denomination fake notes at a shop in INA Market in 2020, saying the prosecution proved the charges. Additional sessions judge Lovleen was hearing a case against Akib and Wakar, against whom the Kotla Mubarkpur police station registered a case under Section 489 B (using as genuine, forged or counterfeit currency notes or bank notes) and 489 C (possession of forged or counterfeit notes) of IPC, as per a PTI report.
