Rs 40 Lakh Stolen from Pritam’s Office, Staffer Accused
Mumbai: A theft case of Rs 40 lakh has been reported from the Mumbai office of renowned Bollywood music composer Pritam Chakraborty. The case was registered at Malad Police Station after Pritam’s manager accused a staff member of stealing the money.
According to police sources, the theft took place on February 4 at around 2 pm. A production house employee arrived at Pritam's office with Rs 40 lakh and handed it over to his manager, Vineet Chheda. Chheda then placed the money in a trolley bag before heading to Pritam’s house to get some documents signed. However, upon returning, he found the money missing.
Upon enquiring with other staff members, he discovered that a staff boy, identified as Ashish Syal, had already left with the bag, claiming he was going to Pritam’s house. When the manager tried to contact Ashish, his phone was switched off, raising suspicions of theft.
Realising the situation, Chheda immediately informed Pritam, and a complaint was filed at Malad Police Station. Following the complaint, Mumbai Police have launched a search for the accused.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to trace the missing funds and locate the suspect.
