Netizens SLAM Ranveer for 'fake' apology

Upset netizens are now reacting to his apology calling it 'fake.' Social media users are very 'disappointed' in him for his controversial remarks and are calling him out online. One comment on his video read, "You've shown your real self and your apology can't change the fact that it came out of YOUR mouth, which also claims to be Bhakt of Shri Hanuman ji and Prabhu Shri Ram. This is unacceptable." Another one added, "This is the celebrity pattern these days, they do anything and then say sorry. Most of the time, it's not that they feel sorry, they apologize because it's business, their careers are at stake. It's the pressure from handlers and sponsors. This apology is fake, clearly..."
A third one wrote, "You couldn’t handle success—it’s simply not your cup of tea. Your arrogance has led you to this downfall." "Translation: sorry what i said hurts my business pls keep watching my videos," added another user. Netizens also commented, "You already lose our respect... Agar maa-baap ke liye aise words nikal rahe hai toh sorry bro, you failed. Just remove all those spirituality videos as well."
For the unversed, a formal complaint was filed against Allahbadia, social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, comedian Samay Raina, and the organisers of the show India's Got Latent after alleged controversial and offensive remarks made on the show.

Ranveer Allahbadia issues apology

Allahbadia issued an apology in a video that he shared on his X account hours after facing backlash saying that "comedy is not his forte" and that "it wasn't cool." Admitting that his comments were "inappropriate," the podcaster said, "My comment wasn't just inappropriate, it wasn't even funny. Comedy is not my forte, I am just here to say sorry."
"Obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context, justification, or reasoning behind what happened. I am just here for an apology. I personally had a lapse in judgment. It wasn't cool on my part," he added.
He also addressed concerns about his influence on younger audiences, saying, "The podcast is watched by people of all ages. I don't want to be the kind of person who takes that responsibility lightly. Family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect. I need to use this platform better. That has been my learning from this whole experience. I promise to get just better," he said.
Allahbadia added that he has asked the India's Got Latent team to remove "insensitive sections" from the episode that featured him. "I have asked the makers of the video to remove the insensitive sections from the video. All I can say in the end is sorry, I hope you can forgive me as a human being," he said.
