Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy Video: Amid a controversy sparked by provocative remarks on comedian Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken a firm stand. The commission has written to YouTube, requesting the removal of videos showing Beep Biceps AKA YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia’s explicit and offensive jokes. This action comes after a complaint was lodged by Yogendra Singh Thakur, who contended that the show, hosted by comedian Samay Raina, contains “highly objectionable, inappropriate, and obscene remarks about Indian society.”

As reported by India Today, the NHRC’s letter shows the complaint that centres on an episode where multiple YouTubers made vulgar and explicit statements that specifically targeted women and children. The commission expressed serious concern that such content, accessible on widely used platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook, poses a grave threat to the safety, dignity, and mental well-being of vulnerable groups. The presence of this material on platforms with broad reach intensifies the potential harm, as it could normalise degrading language and behaviour among impressionable audiences.

For those unfamiliar with the details, Ranveer Allahbadia, also known by his nickname Beer Biceps, appeared as one of the judges in the episode alongside prominent figures such as Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija (popularly known as The Rebel Kid). During the show, Ranveer posed a question to a contestant that quickly escalated into public outrage.

Complaint against Ranveer, Samay Raina and Apoorva Makhija

This question was considered highly offensive by many social media users and it also led to widespread condemnation and prompted a formal complaint against Ranveer, as well as against Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, and the show itself, for allegedly employing abusive language.

Ranveer Allahbadia issued public apology

Soon after the backlash, Ranveer Allahbadia issued a public apology, acknowledging that his remarks were not only inappropriate but also unfunny. In a video statement, he admitted, “My comment wasn't just inappropriate, it wasn't even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I'm just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform and, obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I'm not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened."

He added, "I'm just here for an apology. I personally had a lapse in judgment. It wasn't cool on my part. The podcast is watched by people of all ages. I don't want to be the kind of person that takes that responsibility lightly and family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect."
