SAMAJWADI PARTY

Samajwadi Party is a political party of India. It is also a socialist party. The party was found by Mulayam Singh Yadav who was the former politician of Janata Dal. The headquarter of the party is in New Delhi. It is currently led by the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav. Akhilesh Yadav was chosen as the president of the party for the first time in 2017 during an emergency meeting. Then again for the second he was chosen in 2017 at Agra Convention of Samajwadi Party. And then he was chosen for the third time at Lucknow in September 2022 at the national convention of the party.

Despite having its main headquarters in Uttar Pradesh, the party is also present in several other Indian states . It has held the position of majority government in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly for four terms, the last being Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's full majority rule from 2012 to 2017. The previous three terms of power were held by Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav. With more than 37% of the vote in the 2022 elections, the party's coalition with its allies SP+ has one of the biggest vote bases in the state of Uttar Pradesh in terms of the collective voting pattern in the state-based electoral system.
