Unni Ganapathi Thamburaane Music Video From Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha Released In 4k!

On February 9, Saturday, the team behind the remaster of the classic period flick Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, directed by Hariharan, released the remastered video of the classic song Unni Ganapathi Thamburaane from the film. Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha 4K remaster hit theatres on February 7, thus introducing the classic to a new generation. Mammootty won the National Award for Best Actor for his performance. The movie also won the National Awards for Best Screenplay, Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design. It also won 6 awards, including the Best Popular Movie in the Kerala State Film Awards of 1989.

On February 9, Saturday, the team behind the remaster and re-release of the classic period flick Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, directed by Hariharan, released the remastered video of the classic song Unni Ganapathi Thamburaane from the recently-re-released film. With music by Bombay Ravi, the song features lyrics by K Jayakumar with KS Chithra and Ashalatha on vocals. Interestingly, the video features now-popular actors Vineeth Kumar and Jomol as child actors in the film. The remastered version of the film hit theatres on February 7.

An Official Confirmation

The team behind the remastered 4K re-release had earlier taken to their social media to announce the film's return to the big screens by releasing an announcement teaser of the film on October 7, 2024. On February 1, actor Madhavi, who played the female lead Unniyarcha in the classic film, released a video speaking about her experience working for the film and her memories from its shoot as she thanked the crew and her fellow cast members.

The movie, which was penned by the late veteran novelist and screenwriter MT Vasudevan Nair, portrays a never-seen-before narrative of the warriors from the Malabar region of Kerala. It was directed by acclaimed director Hariharan. Mammootty, who portrayed the central character Chandu, won the National Award for Best Actor for his performance. The movie also won the National Awards for Best Screenplay, Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design. It also won 6 awards, including the Best Popular Movie in the Kerala State Film Awards of 1989.
