Kannada actor Vinay Gowda is set to make his mark as a full-fledged antagonist in Balaramana Dinagalu, directed by K.M. Chaitanya. Starring Vinod Prabhakar, the film revisits the underworld genre.

Popular television actor Vinay Gowda, who has gained fame through several television shows and appeared in films like Martin, Shivaji Surathkal, and Pogaru, is now part of K.M. Chaitanya’s Balaramana Dinagalu, starring Vinod Prabhakar in the lead role.

Vinay Gowda as Katti

Vinay Gowda is now fulfilling his long-cherished dream of playing a full-fledged antagonist in this highly anticipated project. He has secured a significant role as the main villain in Balaramana Dinagalu, which marks director K.M. Chaitanya’s return to the underworld genre, reminiscent of his acclaimed film Aa Dinagalu.
Shreyas, the film’s producer, played a key role in casting Vinay Gowda. "Shreyas saw me in Bigg Boss Kannada and felt I was the right fit for the role of Katti. He recommended me to Chaitanya, and that’s how my journey as a villain began," said Vinay Gowda.

Villain, Not Hero

With nearly half of the film’s shooting completed, Vinay Gowda revealed that his major fight sequences are yet to be filmed.
"Once the big fight scene is done, my part will be over," he shared.
The actor, who grew up idolising legendary villains like Vajramuni and Tamil star Raghuvaran, believes that negative roles offer more creative freedom than heroic ones.
"A hero follows a framework, he must be a good son, husband or boyfriend. A villain, however, has no such constraints. That is why I want to be recognised as a villain," he affirmed.
Made under Padmavathi Films banner, Balaramana Dinagalu is produced by Padmavati Jayaram and Shreyas.
It also features Priya Anand, Atul Kulkarni and Ashish Vidyarthi in prominent roles.
