Google CEO Sundar Pichai met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit in Paris. The Indian-origin tech leader spoke about the huge opportunities AI can bring to India. Pichai shared a photo with PM Modi on X (formerly Twitter) with a caption: "Great to meet PM @narendramodi in Paris for the AI Action Summit. We talked about the amazing possibilities AI offers for India and how we can work together on the country’s digital growth."
During the AI summit in Paris, Modi also talked in length about how Artificial Intelligence is playing a crucial role in daily lives of humans. While advocating for the equitable distribution of AI benefits, particularly for the Global South, PM Modi also warned about biases in artificial intelligence.
He further addressed concerns over job losses due to AI and underlined the need to find solutions to mitigate its impact.
"We must pull together our resources and talent and develop open-source systems that enhance trust and transparency and develop quality datasets, free from biases, in order to benefit the world. AI must be about people-centric applications. We must address concerns related to cybersecurity, disinformation, and deepfakes," PM Modi said.

“AI is developing at an unprecedented scale and speed and being adapted and deployed even faster. There is also a deep interdependence across borders. Therefore, there is a need for collective global efforts to establish governance and standards that uphold our shared values, address risks, and build trust,” he added.
