Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Administration has issued a red alert over a dangerous drug known as ‘Strawberry Quick’, which is being disguised as candy and sold near school premises. The drug poses a serious threat to children’s health, leading to immediate police action.
The Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) has urged police and school officials to remain vigilant and implement strong preventive measures.
To combat this growing concern, authorities have been urged to take strict preventive measures to protect school children from drug-laced substances like Strawberry Quick. Increased police patrolling around schools has been recommended to deter drug peddlers from targeting students. Additionally, regular inspections near school premises will help identify and curb illegal drug distribution. To raise awareness, officials are advised to launch educational programmes for students, teachers, and parents. Schools are also being encouraged to strengthen counselling and preventive initiatives to guide children away from potential drug exposure. Furthermore, strict legal action will be taken against those found selling or distributing these dangerous substances, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
