Would Chris Evans RETURN As Captain America? Anthony Mackie Hints At Possibility
Anthony Mackie might be gearing up for his turn as the shield-weilding Marvel superhero in the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World, he'll never cease to be a fanboy of Steve Rogers actor Chris Evans.
On the sidelines of promoting his new movie, Mackie was asked whether he'd wish to see Evans returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the original Cap. According to Variety, Mackie believed it would be "better" if he comes back.
Chris Evans' possible return as Captain America
The 46-year-old who progressed from playing Falcon to Captain America in the MCU, quickly laughed off at the prospects. He however shared, "There were comic books where Falcon and Steve Rogers fought side-by-side, both as Captain America. So you know, there's possibilities. It's endless."
He added whatever Evans decides, he'd support him. "If Chris can do a cooking show, and I would stand next to him and cook with him, that's my boy!" he said expressing his adulation for his Marvel co-star.
Mackie revealed whether he's ever asked Evans to return. "I tell him that every day, he's like, leave me alone!" he shared with a laugh.
Captain America's MCU timeline
Mackie was speaking in context of Robert Downey Jr rejoining the MCU, but not in his iconic Iron Man avatar. Instead, he's set to play the main villain in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, being helmed by director duo Joe and Anthony Russo.
Avengers: Endgame had Marvel superheroes defeating Thanos. While Iron Man and Black Widow sacrificed their lives in the battle, original Avengers including Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye and even Thor to an extent, retired from their roles.

Captain America: Brave New World marks his first movie as the superhero. It is set to release on February 14.
